Updated version of Cale's bday cake

Don got home Wednesday after a week and a half on the road and we sat down last night and made Cale's real bday cake. I should say again, I baked the cakes, and obviously Don did the decorating. I think it turned out so cute. I think it's ironic that the shape is an 8 and that's how old Cale is this year.

Busy, busy week so far

I splurged (not) on a pool this week since it's been so hot, the kids are enjoying it, can't believe how much fun can be had in a plastic thing filled with cold water.

All of my kids at around the age of 2 have become very interested in watching Grandma get ready, it may have to do with the fact that I rarely wear makeup and doing my hair includes, shower, put stuff in it, air dry, so her little routines are very fascinating to them.

Cale turned 8 on Monday, I can't believe he's getting so big! We had a good time despite the heat, ended up going up to Salem to ride the carousel in the 107 degree evening heat but we were the only ones who rode which was nice.
Cale got a new comforter from my mom.

Don and I got him a new watch and some Keen sandals, he gets to open another present after Daddy gets home.

Morgan made a felt C with padding in it, handsewn and everything.

We went to OMSI and Ikea and to my friends Angie and Jeremy's house on Tuesday, we also got to see an old friend from college Kirstian and our kids who have been penpals got to finally meet, it was so sweet to see them together and fun to hang out but we were all wiped out by the time we got home.

Show us your life-Wedding Dresses

Kelly's Korner is doing another Show us where you live or your life today and I decided to participate. Don and I will be married 15 years this October, I look back at the pictures and think we look so young. I ended up renting my dress, figuring I would never wear it again and with the way styles changed realized my daughter wouldn't either. If I had to do it over again, I would chose a different dress but at the time it was so stylish, puffy sleeves, oh and of course big hair, haha! I can't wait to see what others dresses look like, if you are interested also go check it out at http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/2009/07/show-us-your-life-wedding-dress.html

Me and all my loveliness.

I love this picture of us lighting the unity candle.

Had to add this one of Don, I love how cute he was then and still is.

Silver Falls State Park

Last weekend we went for a hike to Silver Falls State Park and I got some pictures on my phone. They didn't turn out super great but it was cool to go on a hike with Don. The deal he made with us at the beginning of the summer was if he went on a hike with us we had to go the races with him. We are headed for the Polk County Fair in a couple weeks to watch some lawnmower races, I bet it will be great fun. I am wondering if they count as races, my first thought is no but we'll see.

The most awesome park yet

I found the coolest park in Corvallis yesterday and we all had a blast. It is still so weird to not have Cale home, it's odd not counting to four over and over again. He comes home tomorrow thank goodness, I am getting so tired of having to vacuum (something Cale loves to do.) We also harvested our first tomatoes yesterday, so delicious I might add, no pictures, we popped those little babies in our mouthes so fast there wasn't time for no stinkin' camera
