Our boysenberry adventure

Okay I think I'm done with picking and canning for at least a week, I guess until the thornless blackberries are ready. Well maybe a few more blueberries in the meantime, Don doesn't think we have enough yet, whatever. We canned 27 jars total, 12 of just canned boysenberries and 15 jars of boysenberry jam, yummy! I've said it before canning is much easier than I ever thought it was, all you have to know how to do is read the direction, oh and have a mom around to help, I guess we'll see how I do with my next batch of berries after she goes home. If I could can and bake and never have to cook a meal again I would be so happy! Oh and Mary you don't get any until Christmas so quit your whining hee hee!

Ty's owee

In the midst of my mom and I trying to get the berries that we picked somehow into jars, the kids were playing outside. The next thing we know we hear Ty screaming and I mean screaming, so we go running out and he's standing in the grass with no shoes on I think hmm bee sting. I get him inside the house and in between his big toe and the next is a huge, huge, huge stinger and bee bottom sticking out. He cried for at least 15 minutes which was rough since he has a high pain tolerance so I knew it was really hurting. I took a few pictures at the end of the whole ordeal hoping to cheer him up, it didn't, so I asked what would help him feel better and he said "a movie" so I said which one and he said "Return of the Jedi" all of this while still crying mind you. Lo and behold I sit him down in the living room with his movie and he quit crying, imagine that. Poor guy!

Fun with the camera

Berry delight

More berry picking

Well our adventures in berry picking continues. Today we went and actually remembered our cameras. We picked a total of 22 pounds of berries, twenty pounds of boysenberries and two pounds of loganberries. The loganberries didn't taste that great but a lady in the fields told us it makes great jam so we picked a few and thought we would try it out. The pictures are in the slide show above. I can't figure out this darn order thing, oh well at least I got the slide show thingamajig to work.

What a big boy we have

I have a playpen that I set up in Morgan's room during the day when I have daycare kids and I didn't take it down yesterday. When my mom went in to go to bed last night, look what she found.

Bike ride

Thursday night we took the kids on a bike ride. We caught a few cute pictures and had a great time!
